Pink line is the actual track I took which was recorded by my GPS. We have went little bit farther more from Windy Peak.

This is Alberta, it was April, there shouldn't be much snow left, instead, it was like winter road condition. We all know Global Warming is real, but not in Canada this year. Canadians says it was like a winter in 30 years ago.
This is Windy Peak Hills. Ridge walking to the peak.
It was rather a strange day. We planed to hike Plateau Mountain first but oil company put a new gate on the road and restricted access only to hikers and bikers. So we drove back another 50 min to our Plan B, Saddle Mountain. We parked at a side of a road, but then farmer came to talk to us and he didn't allow us to go in his cow poop land. So had to come up with a new plan and we drove another 50 min. We drove more than we hiked that day.
Neat rockwall.
Hailstone Butte. That side is Kananaskis Country, a provincial park, and my side is not. A road just buttom of Hailstone defines the park boundary.
These peaks are Saddle Mountain.
So a week later we came back to the same place. Last weeks never-planed-plan kinda introduced us a potential hike route. Look how much snow had melted in a week!
That's Windy Peak. Strange cloud on top of the peak, it like telling me to go there.
Cornices look like waves in ocean .
I thought it was interesting to see such a distinct line of difference in color.
Kevin gave me the bible of Kananaski hiking book, "Kananaskis Country Trail Guide" by Gillean Daffern. (Couldn't she come up with little more creative name?) Anyway, this book is a lost bible that you cannot get anymore anywhere even from the publisher. Last time I checked amazon.ca, the brand new book priced $202... Insane!!
