Thunder Mountain | 2010-12-26

A day after Christmas, I was already back to work. The last of 2010 adventures was Thunder Mountain in Livingstone Range. It was a lot closer to Crowsnest Pass than I thought which was a good news since I was staying in Crow anyway.
There was a small opening on south side of the road to park my car. I am not sure if there was a continues trail for this peak since some part was covered with snow and I kept loosing it. After a while I gave up trying and went my way but really route-finding is not a part of task here. Follow the ridge from parking to the summit. Pretty much that is it.
From TR of Windtower I mentioned it was my 100th successful peak of 2010. It happened to be this last trip of 2010 was my 100th day in the Rockies in 2010 as well. That sounds impossible but if you do the math… there are 52 weeks in a year which means about 104 Saturdays and Sundays + holidays + vacation – sick / injury days – have to work on weekend days – weather/mtn condition not preferred days = can be 100 days!! In 2010 I have hiked 1,449 km and gained 113,530 m elevation in total. I was very curious how far is 1499 so I draw a line to east from Calgary and it ended up at Trout Lake which is almost as far east as west end of Lake Superior… However 113,530 m is only less then 1/3 of the way to the moon in elevation wise.
