yo-yo ski•ing [yoh-yoh skee-ing]
–noun
I am not trying to upset yoyo skiing lovers, but I have to say personally it is the most boring activity I have done in mountains. After this trip, it’s official I hate it, and I can’t stand it. I don’t feel skiing down 300 m isn’t rewarding enough to drag heavy skis up. If I want to enjoy downhill skiing, I am more than happy to pay money to ski at a resort. Some says it’s a good exercise. Well it’s very true but also it’s very expensive exercise. Since I don’t feel any reward doing yoyo, I am more than happy to run or bike in city to get some cost free exercise. I don’t have to drive, spend money for gas, and put miles in my car. I bought AT ski, AT stands for alpine touring, specifically to tour in alpine. Not going up and down below treeline. Like my buddy Shaun says, everything starts above treeline. I will take bushwhacking and ascending endless scree any time over yoyo. Yoyo skiing SUCKS!!
Well that was a long complain… We planned to go to Crowfoot Mountain, but condition not being too nice, we changed our objective to Crowfoot Pass possibly Bow Peak. Unfortunately it was cold and wind was blowing crazy from treeline, we couldn’t even make it to the pass, so the day turned into ANOTHER yoyo skiing day…
