We had an accident a day before, one of my lazy buddies got injured while scrambling, I had to take him to clinic at Lake Louise and then give him ride home to Calgary as his lag wasn’t well enough to do scrambling. So I lost my second day of 4-day backpacking trip. However when I came back to Hidden Lake campground, it was still 7 pm and I had few more hours of hail/cloudy weather before cannot be seen sunset. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to/could go with limited time, but I didn’t waste any time and left the camp.

I ended up on a small peak between Ptarmigan Peak and Fossil Mountain. This little peak at GR646054, I decided to nickname 'Packer’s Little Peak'. To be honest, I was trying to go to Skoki Valley or somewhere around there, but I was inpatient and instead of following trail to Deception Pass, I decided to shortcut by going up a hill east of Packer’s Little Peak. By doing so when I reached the ridge, I realized I was surrounded by cliffs and there was no easy way to get down to Deception Pass. So that’s pretty much convinced me to end the day, but the weather improved and actually I could see sun, so I wanted to stay little longer. I started going up little higher to Packer’s Little Peak. Right before the peak, there was a rockband which I rate moderate scramble. This is the reason why I rate this hike advanced (moderate in scramble book’s rating). If you follow my decent route, it will be easy hike all the way up.

Luckily I got sunny break. This short sunny break was the nicest weather in entire 4 day trip.
