We originally tried to go to a nicknamed peak, "North Buller Pass Peak", which is north of N. Buller Pass. We followed a trail which I knew wasn't going to the right direction, but I preferred following the trail than breaking a new trail. I thought we could follow the trail and get up on a ridge first then walk on the ridge to the end of the pass, but once we got high enough to see route, we knew we were screwed. So we ended up near Mount Buller's east summit block.

Seeing North Buller Pass route from high ground. By looking at terrain which goes to the end of the pass, we might have not be able to go all the way anyway. I don't see shoal snow terrain.
