We originally tried to go to a nicknamed peak, "North Buller Pass Peak", which is north of N. Buller Pass. We followed a trail which I knew wasn't going to the right direction, but I preferred following the trail than breaking a new trail. I thought we could follow the trail and get up on a ridge first then walk on the ridge to the end of the pass, but once we got high enough to see route, we knew we were screwed. So we ended up near Mount Buller's east summit block.

Mount Buller's south face. Quite impressive.
Coming up a steep terrain.
This is where we stopped right at the summit cliff.
An avalanche path near where I am.

Even though this hike was shortened in distance, we still spent 7 hours.
