Pink line is the actual track I took which was recorded by my GPS. We took Kane's decent route to go up and down. Don't park where I parked. It's avalanche zone and I didn't know park can give you ticket. I got warning this time though. If you are doing in summer, either you have to swim the lake or bike on the other side of the lake like Bobspriko did.

Going up the snow covered drainage. Snow is getting heavier and harder now and snowshoeing is getting harder to do.

Accidentally get up on a wrong ridge. The bigger ridge is the ridge you see from 742.

The peak from here seems so far. At this point we already spent 4 hours.

Never have experienced such dramatic temperature change. It was -10 C at car. Then it becomes 0 C for a while. When we arrived at the peak, it was -20 C, then it went back to -10 C at car.

Correcting our route. Luckily we didn't have to lose too much elevations and easily went up on the correct ridge.

However we had to walk across avalanche path to fix our mistake.

Wasn't expecting to see blue sky, so I was happy to see this gorgeous view.

Combination of light flurries, clouds, and sun beam made the view mystic. Mouseover to see names.

I don't know how but that sun beam was lighting up straight down for a long time.

Mount Assiniboine. Someday someday.

After a long exhausting ascent, we found out there was still more. (TwT。)

I recognized this last narrow ridge just before the summit from other websites.

The condition of the ridge didn't look good at all but we decided to try anyway.

We had to remove snow so that we step on rock not snow.

Once we saw the ridge from the beginning of the ridge, there was no way to walk. Way too much snow on a such a narrow ridge, even poking with a hiking pole couldn't reach the rock. We were almost at the summit, but after 6 hours of ascent we gave up. Snowalker was defeated (my axe is called is Snowalker from Petzl).

I was accidentally here when there was forest fire. I am guessing these burned trees are result of that.

Some of the thick ice pushed on shore. My ice axe is about 70 cm long. You can see how thick these ices are.
