Massive Mountain | 2013-02-02

Massive Mountain is massively not so massive. But Raff invited me to try this peak for ski ascent.
Approach:
From the parking lot, we skied along the highway's fence for 700 m then we came across a creek which was not on Topo map. We followed the creek for another 700 m. The creek was blocked by dead trees and could not go over with skis on but it took us close enough to another creek which we wanted to get to. There were dead trees especially at lower elevation and we had to stay off the creek and bushwhack little.
To Col:
After a long way following the creek, we finally came to a slope with goes to the col (page 6). The slope is little bushy especially for skiing down and bit steep for going up. It was work out time and I have to thank Raff for breaking trail for this most demanding part of this ascent.
Ridge:
Once at the col, not much more to go. One part at where the ridge became flat and rocks coming out (page 8), here we went to climber's left to go around the rock. After this we saw the flat hiking ridge.
