When driving highway 3 passed Crowsnest Pass, Crowsnest Mountain dominates driver's attention. But I have done Crowsnest few times, it was always the ridge connected twin peaks that grabbed my attention. So I finally decided to try the unnamed peak which I nicknamed "Deadman Pass Peak".

Finding trailhead:
There isn't much indicator to tell Deadman Pass trail. Off the highway 3 on to Allison Creek Road, then at 7.4 km you should see the trailhead. If you are unsure you can use Deadman Pass trail which actually goes north then comes back south, but you can also use a quad trail which goes straight to west. However if you take this trail, you have to eventually get back to Deadman Pass trail about 0.9 km after the trailhead. (I couldn't use the quad trail at the trailhead because they were doing trail maintenance with a big machine. This is the reason why I had to bushwhack to get around it.)

South Ridge:
It's not possible to miss south ridge if you are on Deadman Pass trail. The ridge comes down to the trail.

To the Summit:
Nothing much to mention. Show off your scrambler sprit to slog up slope. 1st peak was easy, but I am not sure about traversing to the 2nd peak. I am dumb enough to forget to take picture of the connecting ridge, but it didn't look good.

Descent:
Once I came back to the long south ridge, I decided to get off the ridge and use openings to get to Allison road to get back to the car.

First job was to get up the ridge. It was bit steep heading the ridge from side.

In winter time, this slope will be excellent for crazy carpeting.
