Mount Indefatigable II

Red line is the actual track I took up to where I went which was recorded by my GPS.

This is my second time doing impossible for me to pronounce mountain, Mount Indefatigable. Ali hiking up in the picture.

Looking up the ridge between south and north summits.

This place is so beautiful with lakes and green. This would be a good place to take some inexperienced people because they will enjoy the nature without visiting the summits.

See how green and beautiful it is. Getting up here doesn't require any skills.

Looking at the Crux. That where we needed to go to get to the north summit. Mouse over to see the routes. Red line is what Kane's book describe. Yellow line is the route we took which is little more difficult. We stayed on the edge until the last part where it was too steep for me.

So the scramble began. Party of 4 from CSMC going up. Ali with white helmet, Wil with orange shirt, and Mark, "The crazy UK guy" already is taking unnecessarily more difficult route.

This is where I made left turn to merge to Kane's route. Ali followed, but the other two didn't show up. I knew what was going on. Mark the crazy UK guy kept going straight up the wall and Wil followed him. After 4 minutes of waiting I hear Wil kiddingly yelling at Mark, "Why do you always have to go difficult way bla bla bla." ...And Mark eventually backed off and came to the same route as I took.

Ridge itself was more like hike than scramble except there were brief exposures here and there.

Keep going.

Upper Kananaskis Lake and Glaciers.

See this is what I mean. Everyone else took the way Wil is in the picture, but Mark stays right on the exposed ridge without a reason that makes sense logically. Don't do it, don't do it, Mark!!

Wil waking on one of sharp parts of the ridge.

Funny story. I talked about this hike with my neibours, there were like 5 of them. Everyone knew this popular mountain and everyone pronouced it differently. One of them was a English teacher, so she went back to her place to lookup dictionary to correctly pronnce the name of the mountain.
